Liam Martin, a Temora product, joined the Penrith Panthers SG Ball squad in 2015 and has since become a cornerstone of the club’s sustained success. He progressed through NYC in 2016 and was part of the Panthers’ 2017 ISP premiership-winning side, earning NSW Residents honours and ISP Team of the Year selection in 2018.
Martin made his NRL debut in 2019 against Melbourne and quickly made an impact, including a standout man-of-the-match performance against Manly. Renowned for his aggressive defence, high work rate and tackle-breaking ability, he has been instrumental in Penrith’s premiership-winning era, claiming four NRL titles.
He debuted for NSW in State of Origin in 2021 and for Australia in 2022, establishing himself as a regular representative when fit. Widely respected for his toughness and willingness to play through injury, Martin remains a key leader and fan favourite at the club. He is contracted until the end of 2027.
