Panthers captain Peter Wallace will miss Friday's clash with Canberra Raiders as he continues to manage a tendon issue in his shoulder.

The 32-year-old hooker will be sidelined indefinitely as he attempts to overcome the injury he suffered in the Panthers' Round 10 victory over Newcastle Knights.

With four players in the NSW Origin side, Panthers coach Anthony Griffin will name an extended 23-man squad to face Canberra at GIO Stadium.

The club is preparing for a worst-case scenario of James Maloney, Nathan Cleary, Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Tyrone Peachey being unable to back up for Friday night's clash.
