Kiwis select four Panthers for World Cup

Panthers stars Moses Leota, Casey McLean, Isaiah Papali'i and Scott Sorensen have earned selection in New Zealand's Rugby League World Cup 2026 squad.

Leota, Papali'i and Sorensen, who each featured in the 2022 World Cup, are named amongst the Kiwis' formidable forward stocks, which also includes former Panthers hero James Fisher-Harris.

McLean, who has scored an incredible eight tries in four Test matches for New Zealand, is set to make his World Cup debut.

The Kiwis selections come after Australia, Samoa and Tonga also named Panthers in their World Cup squads.

The Rugby League World Cup 2026 kicks off on Thursday 15 October with Australia facing New Zealand at Allianz Stadium.

The tournament will be hosted across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, with the Final to be played at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday 15 November.
