The Panthers bounced back from consecutive losses with an important 22-14 victory over Melbourne at AAMI Park, overcoming a determined second-half fightback to secure the two points.

Brian To’o was the star with a first-half hat-trick, including a 60-metre intercept try, as Penrith raced to a 22-0 lead at the break. The Storm threatened a remarkable comeback after scoring twice in the opening 21 minutes of the second half, but Penrith’s cover defence held firm to preserve the win.

To’o’s hat-trick, which included his 100th career try, proved decisive, while Liam Henry also crossed in the first half.

The Panthers’ dominant opening 40 minutes gave them enough breathing room to withstand sustained Storm pressure and close out an important victory.

Vote for your best on ground by Thursday 27 August for the chance to win a signed football thanks to Hertz Australia.
