Panthers v Warriors: Sweating on Origin stars; Pompey in for RTS

The final game of Round 13 will be well worth the wait as the top two sides on the ladder square off for the first time since the opening week of the 2025 finals series.

On that occasion it was the Panthers storming Go Media Stadium to come away with a 24-8 victory that sent the Wahs tumbling out of the finals race.

Some seven months later and it's the Warriors entering enemy territory at CommBank Stadium and looking to add another massive scalp to a list of victims that include the Broncos, Roosters and Raiders.

The Panthers will be sweating on the availabilty of Origin stars Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo, Brian To'o and Casey McLean while the Warriors have chosen to rest Mitch Barnett (NSW) and Kurt Capewell (Qld).

Should the Panthers' big four back up they then have a seven-day break before a Round 14 game against Wests Tigers.

Team News

Panthers: Coach Ivan Cleary has named his Origin reps Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo, Casey McLean and Brian To'o in the reserves and will monitor their fitness after Game One on Wednesday night. Star back-rower Liam Martin has been named to return from a knee injury while Izack Tago and Luke Garner have been named in the centres for the time being. Jack Cogger will play halfback should Nathan Cleary not back up from Origin and Lindsay Smith will line up at lock if Yeo is rested.

Warriors: The loss of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to a season-ending ACL injury brings Adam Pompey into the centres. Marata Niukore has been added to the bench in place of Eddie Ieremia-Toeava (concussion). Mitch Barnett and Kurt Capewell are set to be rested. Dragons-bound playmaker Luke Metcalf is listed among the reserves as he chases a first NRL appearance since Round 5.
