Panthers chips in $100k to Royce’s Big Walk

Penrith Panthers was pleased to announce a $100,000 donation to Royce’s Big Walk on Saturday night.

With Royce Simmons finishing his 313km journey from Dubbo to Bathurst ahead of the Royce Simmons Cup, Panthers Group presented the Panthers legend with the donation before the match against Wests Tigers on Saturday night.

The $100,00 donation brings the tally for Royce’s Big Walk to $450,000 with funds supporting dementia research.

The Panthers Hall of Famer completed his walk in 12 days, completing several sportsman’s dinners along the way, to help raise funds for local rugby league on the route.

The tough-as-nails former Panthers skipper is tackling his Alzheimer’s diagnosis just as he would any other opponent on the footy field – head on and with the benefit of his ‘team’ and their supporters as his major priority.

Although the 2023 edition of the walk has been completed, fundraising will continue over the coming months.
