Cobra Waste Man of the Month: August

Cobra Waste August Man of the Month

The Panthers recorded four victories in August with decisive wins over the Roosters, Dragons, Rabbitohs and Wests Tigers.

Viliame Kikau produced arguably his two best performances of the season in back-to-back games against South Sydney and Wests Tigers. Kikau was a threat in attack, making 24 tackle breaks, 279 post contact metres and 9 offloads to go with a four-pointer of his own in August.

Playing in four of the five fixtures Paul Momirovksi was the mastermind in two of the most spectacular tries of the season. Both came off his right boot and both came in a matter of minutes against the Rabbitohs in Round 23. He also scored two tries in an impressive return to action.

Coming back from a shoulder injury in the victory over the Dragons Nathan Cleary quickly found his feet, creating plenty of opportunities and controlling matches with his pin-point kicking game. As well as his four try assists and 1,568 kicking metres Cleary had a 90% tackle efficiency defending on the Panthers right edge.

Matt Burton continued his try-scoring form in 2021 with another three meat pies. The enigmatic attacker laid on four more tries and ran 609 metres in five games.
