Panthers forward Liam Martin will miss Friday's game against St George Illawarra Dragons after scans revealed he suffered a grade two quad tear in training last week.
The 22-year-old has already commenced his rehabilitation program and is some chance of being fit to take on Canberra Raiders in Round 19.
Martin's injury opened the door for Jed Cartwright to make his NRL debut in the victory over Gold Coast Titans last Friday.
Panthers coach Ivan Cleary will name his squad to face the Dragons on Tuesday afternoon.
