Battle of the West Blood Rivals

Did you know that one in three Panthers members will need a blood donation in their lifetime? Or that giving blood only takes an hour, but can save three lives?

Australia needs 25,000 blood donors to roll up their sleeve every week. Around one third of those donations go towards helping people with cancer, with the rest needed to treat immune conditions, pregnancy and childbirth complications, surgery, haemophilia, heart disease and more.

That’s why we’re proud to take part in the Battle of the West Blood Rivals Competition from 1 June – 31 August, 2019.

It’s run by Red25, the group donation program of the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.

We’ll be competing with our Western Sydney rivals the Bulldogs, Eels and Wests Tigers to save the most lives.

How to get involved

  • Find out if you're eligible to donate blood. Eligibility can be affected by travel, medication, illness tattoos. To check, click here.
  • Book a blood donation for during the challenge online or by calling 13 14 95.
  • Join the Penrith Panthers Red25 group to have your donation count towards our tally.
  • At any time, you can check our tally online to track how many lives we’ve saved (and to see what the competition is doing!)

Even if you can’t donate, you can still help by rallying others to the cause and spreading the word about donation. Get behind the Panthers and save lives!

For more information regarding the challenge, call the Red25 team on 1300 886 524 or visit the challenge event page here.

Let’s show our ‘blood rivals’ we’re the biggest life-savers!
