Penrith’s youngsters have their work cut out for them this week when they take on the second placed Broncos at Sportingbet Stadium on Monday night.

We are coming off the back of two straight wins while the young Brisbane side have had two BYES and posted two wins in the last four weeks, and they currently sit second on the Holden Cup ladder behind the Knights.

The Panthers went down to the Wests Tigers last week in a disappointing game where nothing seemed to go our way. We did well to finish the match losing 30-18 after a 24-0 deficit at half time, but we have now slipped out of the top 8 and currently sit in 9th.

Trent Barrett will run with the same side again this week, keeping youngsters James Fisher-Harris and Paea Pua on his bench. The Broncos have also named an unchanged line up after their 32-10 win over the Sharks in their last match.

The Panthers may look a little downtrodden at the moment, but they have overcome some big hurdles this year and may just pull another rabbit out of the hat on Monday. Whatever the case, we’re in for an exciting curtain-raiser to the main game!
