The Penrith Panthers held their nerve in a Friday night thriller, defeating the Dolphins in golden point after a dramatic momentum swing at TIO Stadium in Darwin.
Thomas Jenkins was a standout on the edge, finishing with a double and a game-high 240 run metres from 22 carries. Dylan Edwards was again tireless at the back with 214 metres from 21 runs and an early try, while Paul Alamoti (223m) and Brian To’o (203m) provided strong yardage out of the backfield.
SEVEN DOUBLES IN A ROW
Nathan Cleary controlled proceedings throughout, finishing with two line breaks, two try assists, three conversions, a decisive field goal, and an outstanding 594 kicking metres to continually pin the Dolphins in their own end.

Izack Tago also played a crucial role, running for 194 metres off just 14 carries, including a stunning late surge that set up the field position for Cleary’s match-winning play.
What a run from Tago
In attack, Isaah Papali’i and Blaize Talagi each recorded a try assist, while Cleary’s involvement on both sides of the ball proved pivotal in the clutch moments.
Defensively, Freddy Lussick led the way with a game-high 41 tackles, while Isaah Yeo and Isaiah Papali’i were immense through the middle with 39 tackles apiece. Scott Sorensen (34) and Luke Garner (30) also played key roles in holding firm under second-half pressure.
