Cleary cops high tackle charge

Panthers co-captain Nathan Cleary has been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee following Friday night’s trial match against the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval.

Cleary received a grade two charge for a careless high tackle relating to contact on Wests Tigers player Heamasi Makasini in the first half of the match.

The charge carries a two-match suspension with an early guilty plea, or a potential three-match ban if he chooses to contest it at the judiciary.

The Panthers have until 12pm Monday to enter a plea.
