Penrith Panthers kicked off their 2026 season with a 16-18 loss against the Sydney Roosters at Mascot Oval. Scored first-half tries from Thomas Goodfield, Ryan Goncalves and Zeik Selwood, and Hunter Bell added two conversions. The Roosters ultimately completed the comeback with a decisive penalty goal to claim the win.
