The Penrith Panthers are once again joining the fight against bowel cancer by encouraging member and fans to ‘Get Behind It’ by completing the free bowel cancer screening test.
Following the success of last year’s campaign, this marks the second straight year the Panthers have teamed up to raise awareness and drive action through the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program – a free and potentially lifesaving test that could make all the difference.
To celebrate the renewed partnership, fans can go in the draw to win two hospitality tickets and an exclusive warm-up experience at the Round 17 clash against the Bulldogs on Thursday 26 June.
To enter, complete the following form below by Monday 23 June and answer this simple question Why is it important to complete your free bowel screening test?
Only 4 in 10 people return their free test kits, which is staggering given bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in Australia, but if you catch it early, there’s a 90% chance of survival.
Panthers Rugby League CEO Matt Cameron is throwing his support behind the initiative.
“Panthers is proud of this partnership, and we hope as many of our members and fans as possible take the opportunity to complete the free bowel screening test – a simple yet powerful step that can truly save lives,” Cameron said.
“It’s a great initiative, and we’re proud to play our part in helping raise awareness and encouraging early detection.”
Federal Minister for Health, Disability and Ageing, Mark Butler, praised the Panthers for using their platform to promote lifesaving action.
“It is great to see the Panthers using their success and deep connection with their fans to help get more people doing their bowel screening,” Minister Butler said.
“The Panthers are champions on the field and now they’re stepping up as champions for health. This partnership is about saving lives in Western Sydney and beyond.“

“Bowel cancer can be deadly, but early detection gives us a fighting chance– more than 90% of cases can be treated if found early. I’ve done the test, and I urge every fan aged 45 to 74 to do the same. It’s free, it’s easy – and it could save your life.”
