Col Bentley named Life Member

Penrith Panthers is delighted to confirm Col Bentley has been named an Honorary Life Member of the club.

Bentley was awarded the honour at Penrith District Rugby League Football Club's 2025 Annual General Meeting.

Panther No. 252, Col Bentley played 114 games for the club including the 1991 grand final when he helped the club win its first premiership.

He made his first grade debut with the Panthers in 1986 and quickly established himself as a reliable, defensively-strong centre.

Bentley was a key figure for the Panthers as the club reached its first grand final in 1990 and then won its first premiership in 1991.

Following a brief stint at Manly from 1993 to 1994, he returned to Penrith for his swansong season in 1995 before retiring.

Bentley also made significant off-field contributions to the Panthers, working for the club in sponsorship and marketing across the 1980s and 1990s.

After retiring, he was elected to the board of the Penrith District Rugby League Football Club, a position he held from 2002 to 2008.
