Nathan embraces the big moments: Ivan Cleary

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary is expecting another testing battle against the Rabbitohs on Thursday night as his side aims four consecutive wins.

South Sydney will be seeking revenge after their Round 2 loss against the Panthers and Cleary believes this week’s game will be no different to the previous matches against the Rabbitohs.

“They've had a couple of good weeks and we know about the Bunnies, what they offer and how dangerous they are,” Cleary said.

“A lot of our games against them recently have been big-time games. In that sense we don’t have to do a lot of homework this week, we kind of know how it works and they probably know about us too.

“It’s always a good game, so it should be another one.”

Coach Media: Round 8

Coming off the back of a golden point win through a Nathan Cleary field goal, the coach discussed how proud he is of his co-captain’s effort in the opening seven rounds of the season.

“I’m very proud, but I’m impressed honestly, over the last 12 months he has matured off the field and just as a man and I think that’s showing on the field as well,” Ivan said.

“He’s really embracing the big moments and putting himself out there every time to take those shots.

“We have great leaders in our team and he is one of them.”
