Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards deserved every accolade that came his way after a career-best season.
He finished the year with Merv Cartwright and Clive Churchill medals around his neck to accompany his two premiership rings.
As consistent as ever, Edwards had a standout season across the 2022 campaign – losing just twice in 25 matches.
The Panthers fullback finished the year ranked first in the NRL for runs, run metres, kick return metres and support plays.
With an average of 223 metres a game, Edwards was dominant at getting the Panthers on the front foot in attack – but the brilliance didn’t end with ball in hand.
He produced countless try-saving tackles and was a key cog in the Panthers’ black wall of defence. His ‘Scott Sattler-like tackle’ in the decider was an example of his commitment and dedication to his team.
His grand final effort will go down in the history books as he was named player of the match following 291 metres, three line-break assists, nine tackle breaks and a try assist.

BEST TRY
The Clive Churchill Medallist crossed for nine tries this season, but we’ve selected his try against the Raiders at GIO Stadium as his best four-pointer of the campaign.
Moments earlier he had been whacked in the sternum, but he chose to remain on the field and was rewarded with a try to celebrate his 100th NRL game.

WHAT WAS SAID
Edwards isn’t one to talk himself up, so we’ll let his teammates Api Koroisau and Scott Sorensen do that for him.
He's everywhere all the time. He's the most reliable guy I've ever played with, honestly, just in terms of him always being there and knowing you can count on him, it's incredible … I love him. I actually love him.
Api Koroisau
He has just gone above and beyond this year and I really do 100 per cent feel like he has taken his game to another level. But if you ask him he will be extremely humble, that is just the type of person he is which is an absolute credit to him. He is such an asset to our team… It is all credit to him for wanting to be better, wanting to improve and obviously he has done that by a country mile.
Scott Sorensen
SOCIAL SCENE
The humble fullback isn’t one to flaunt on his personal social media. In fact, he posted just the one time on Instagram during the 2022 season – and it came at the biggest moment of the season… the premiership victory.
