Capewell cops crusher tackle charge

Panthers forward Kurt Capewell has been issued a crusher tackle charge by the NRL Match Review Committee following Sunday's win over South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Capewell received a grade one crusher tackle charge for a tackle on Rabbitohs forward Tevita Tatola in the 63rd minute of the clash at Apex Oval.

Due to his clean record to this point, Capewell will receive a one-match suspension regardless of whether he takes the early guilty plea or is found guilty by the NRL Judiciary.

A one-match ban will see the 27-year-old Queenslander miss Saturday's game against the Bulldogs but remain available for selection for the State of Origin opener.
