Martin cops contrary conduct charge

Panthers forward Liam Martin has been charged with contrary conduct by the NRL Match Review Committee following Friday's win over Cronulla Sharks.

Martin has been issued with a grade one contrary conduct charge for unnecessary contact with the head of Sharks winger Mawene Hiroti in the 53rd minute of the game at BlueBet Stadium.

The 24-year-old faces a monetary penalty only and is free to play in next Sunday's Magic Round clash with Gold Coast Titans.

Panthers hooker Apisai Koroisau was not charged by the NRL Match Review Committee after earlier being put on report for a crusher tackle by referee Chris Butler.
