Maloney, Martin charged with dangerous throw

Panthers playmaker James Maloney and forward Liam Martin are each facing suspension after being charged with a grade one dangerous throw in Saturday's defeat to Canberra Raiders.

Maloney also received a grade one dangerous contact charge for a tackle on John Bateman. It can be seen in the video below.

The 32-year-old has a clean record and early guilty pleas to both charges will see him suspended for a total of one week.

With loading from a prior similar offence, Martin is also looking at a one-week suspension even with an early guilty plea.

With the likely suspension of Maloney and Martin, and the significant injury toll arising from Saturday's defeat, it will be a new-look Panthers side that travels to Brisbane for Friday's clash with Wests Tigers.
