Panthers coach Ivan Cleary has named his squad to face Cronulla Sharks at PointsBet Stadium on Thursday.

Tim Grant has been named to make his first NRL appearance for Panthers since 2014 while Isaah Yeo is fit to play after being cleared of major injury.

Wayde Egan has been given the starting hooker role with Sione Katoa dropping back to the bench.

Following a period of consideration, James Tamou has emerged from the club's six-man leadership group to be appointed Panthers captain for 2019.

The Panthers will wear the black 2019 Home Jersey.
