Vale Jeff Smith

Panthers wishes to acknowledge the passing of former Penrith District Junior Rugby League (PDJRL) board member and Panthers gear steward Jeff Smith.

Smith passed away on Sunday, aged 72, following a long battle with illness.

Smith worked with the PDJRL from the 1960s, including a stint as Assistant Representative Secretary, and held the position of Panthers gear steward from 1989 to 1994.

"Jeff Smith was a great Panther man," Panthers Executive General Manager Phil Gould AM said.

"He gave years of loyal service to the club and Penrith junior league.

"In his later years, despite moving away to live on the Gold Coast with his family, Jeff remained a staunch supporter of the Panthers club.

"He had many good friends here at Panthers and he will be sorely missed.

"I'm sure I speak for all of us in sending our sincere best wishes to Jeff's family."
