Scans have revealed Trent Merrin will be sidelined as a result of a knee injury suffered against the Warriors in Auckland.

Merrin suffered a high grade medial collateral ligament tear, which does not require surgery, but will see the Panthers forward miss six to eight weeks of the competition.

The injury occurred as Merrin found the offload for Tyrone May's try on debut. Watch it here:
