Penrith Panthers can confirm Andy Saunders has been immediately released from the remainder of his contract to pursue an opportunity with another NRL club.

The 22-year-old prop won a premiership with the Panthers NYC side in 2013 and backed it up with a NSW Cup premiership the following season.

"We are sorry to be losing Andy but at the same time excited he has been given a wonderful opportunity with another great club," Panthers Executive General Manager Phil Gould AM said.

"Andy has been tremendous for the Panthers and his next club have secured themselves a very good man.

"We wish Andy all the best for the future."
