Penrith Panthers are delighted to confirm the signing of forward Chris Grevsmuhl until the end of the 2018 season.

Grevsmuhl, 23, has linked up with the Panthers after this week obtaining a release from the final year of his contact with South Sydney Rabbitohs.

"I’m excited to join the Panthers and can’t wait to pull the boots on and get started," Grevsmuhl said.

"The Panthers have developed a very strong team that never gives in and that's what I’m most excited about.

"The chance to train at the Panthers Rugby League Academy and improve my game with the coaching staff here is a great opportunity for me."

A former Australian Schoolboys and Junior Kangaroos representative, Grevsmuhl scored eight tries in 29 games after making his NRL debut for the Rabbitohs last season.

"Chris is a young and talented forward with a long NRL career ahead of him," Panthers Rugby League CEO Corey Payne said.

"He is a welcome addition to the Panthers and we look forward to helping him develop into a leader both on and off the field."
