Panthers Executive General Manager Phil Gould on Wednesday night broke some disappointing injury news for centre Dean Whare.
Whare was due back from a calf tear this weekend against Canberra but suffered a knee injury at training on Wednesday.
Gould posted on Twitter that Whare will undergo scans on Thursday for a suspected torn ACL, which will end the Kiwi international's season.
Whare has made one NRL appearance for the Panthers in 2016, with two separate calf injuries keeping him sidelined for extended periods.
