Sione Katoa will miss day two of the Auckland Nines after suffering a knee injury in the win against the Tigers.

The Panthers hooker suffered a medial ligament injury in his left knee, requiring scans once the team returns to Sydney, and is expected to spend at least a month on the sidelines.

Penrith tackle the Cowboys on day two of the Auckland Nines, with the winner to progress to the tournament's quarterfinals.
