The appointment of 24-year-old Matt Moylan as Panthers captain actually continues a proud club history of promoting youthful leaders.

When Moylan takes to the field against Canberra Raiders in Round 1 of the 2016 NRL season, he will be aged 24 years and 262 days.

- Zac Olejarnik - 23 years and 75 days (1975)
- James Segeyaro - 24 years and 158 days (2015)
- Ryan Girdler - 24 years and 214 days (1997)
- Tony Puletua - 24 years and 247 days (2004)
