The venue for New South Wales Rugby League’s VB NSW Cup, Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield Grand Finals has been confirmed, with Parramatta’s Pirtek Stadium set to host the deciders on Sunday, 27 September.
A week before the NRL Grand Final, the NSWRL Grand Finals Day offers rugby league fans in Sydney the only opportunity to watch high-level action on that day.
The 2015 NSWRL Grand Finals Day triple-treat promises to be a great day out for fans young and old, with six hours of football excitement, entertainment and athleticism available at family-friendly prices.
NSWRL finalists will be decided this weekend and tickets go on sale in coming days, with adults/concession just $10 and children under 12 years free. There will also be great-value meal deals on sale across the day for just $10.
Chief Executive of the NSWRL David Trodden said Pirtek Stadium was the right choice for the competitions and the players as well as the fans.
“Pirtek Stadium offers a first-class facility for everyone – I couldn’t be happier with the decision,” Trodden said.
“From the playing surface itself to the spectators’ viewing areas, corporate hospitality suites and more, Pirtek is a five-star venue and the perfect place to stage our NSWRL Grand Finals Day.
“The day’s going to one to remember and will feature three great grand finals and some of the best and most promising rugby league players in the state.
“I encourage everyone to get to Pirtek to watch some great rugby league action – and see three teams crowned 2015 Premiers.”
The race for the VB NSW Cup finals is tighter than ever, with Wyong, Mounties and Penrith currently in a three-way fight for the minor premiership. The jostle for positions is also occurring in the bottom half of the top eight, with just one victory separating fifth to eighth.
In Ron Massey Cup, all teams are hunting Mounties, currently hold a five-win advantage over the second-placed Wentworthville Magpies. Just three competition points separate fifth to 10th.
The Sydney Shield is also being fiercely contested, with 10 sides still battling for a place in this year’s finals series with just one round to play.
