Ryan Girdler celebrates a try against Melbourne Storm in 2002.

Penrith great Ryan Girdler has won over fans for more than two decades, first as a fleet-footed outside back and since retirement as one of the game's most popular media analysts.

'Girds' played more than 200 top-grade games, eight Origin matches, 10 Tests and scored more points for the Panthers than any other player. In 2006 he was honoured as a member of the inaugural Panthers Team of Legends.

As part of NSW Rugby League's Turn Back Time video series, Steve 'Blocker' Roach has sat down and grilled Girdler on his time in the spotlight.

In the revealing interview, Girdler discusses his incredible rugby league career, particularly his time at the foot of the mountains, and what he’s been up to since retiring from the game.
