PANTHERS vs BEARS
SATURDAY 16th MAY
KICK-OFF: 3PM
NORTH SYDNEY OVAL

Our NSW Cup boys look to keep the pressure on the top of the table when they take on Norths at North Sydney Oval on Saturday afternoon.

The win over Wentworthville gives Garth Brennan’s team plenty of confidence heading into the clash. A further boost for the squad is the return of Isaac John from his stint in first grade. Tupou Sopoaga starts in the second row with Sam Anderson and Leilani Latu have been named in the front row.

Last time the two teams met, Penrith gave their Bathurst fans a solid win at Carrington Park. Norths have struggled to string together consecutive wins since their loss to us in round 2. The results may not have gone their way, but the performances have improved since the season kicked off. Brennan will be making sure his side doesn’t get complacent.

The return of Isaac John brings that extra flare in attack that’s needed to lift the Panthers. In his time in NSW Cup earlier in the year, John was explosive when he had the ball in his hands. He had the opposition trembling on the back foot and opened up a lot of space for the likes of Will Smith to find open space.

The Panthers take on the Bears at North Sydney Oval on Saturday afternoon at 3pm.
