Dubai radio personality and fellow Aussie Kris Fade has become a staunch fan of the mighty Panthers.

Born and bred in Sydney’s St George region, Kris was offered the opportunity of a lifetime to take on the very high profile breakfast program on Virgin radio after a short sting with western Sydney’s Edge FM.

After almost 6 extraordinarily successful years, the four time winner of AHLAN personality of the year (equivalent to the Gold Logie) Kris is not only the darling of the middle east playing to an audience of around 300 million across the entire gulf region with his home grown Aussie flavour, but Kris has grown into a huge Panthers fan.

Panthers:     Were you always a footy fan and who did you follow?

Kris:               I've always loved my footy and have been a St George fan all my life. I was even born in St George hospital, what chance did I have?

Panthers:     So when did the Panther epiphany occur and how?

Kris:               It’s funny, we now get all the NRL matches live here and in addition to watching as many Dragons games as possible, I've also watched quite a few Panthers matches and really enjoyed it. I love a rags to riches story, they seem to be committed, entertaining and above all a good bunch of blokes. As for “how”, not entirely sure but eventually I found myself checking the program to see when the Panthers play next and who and wherever possible try to watch. It’s been a blast.

Another twist to this story is my family name was originally Fahd which in Arabic means ‘black panther’.

Panthers:     Do you have a favourite player?

Kris:               I've really enjoyed watching the halves Soward and Wallace go around, but how can you go past Josh Mansour, he's a star.

Panthers:     What do you do when St George plays Penrith?

Kris:               Look forward to a good game, without controversy and hope the best side wins. How amazing if both teams made the GF.

Panthers:     The New Era snap back cap looks great on you, where did you get it?

Kris:               Ha, it’s a funny story. A mate was coming over to visit and asked if I wanted anything St George? I had a look online but also checked out the Panthers store, saw this cap and loved it (black is also a favourite colour) and floored my mate when I asked for the Panthers cap. This is one of my favourites.
