16 teams competed in the finals day for the Greg Alexander Shield at a very windy Kingsway on Tuesday.

All of the teams competing had already won their respective regional preliminary days to progress to the finals day. The competition was fierce with many games ending in a very close result.

In the A division, Regentville PS met Blaxland East PS in an extremely close final. After the scores were locked up 6 a piece at half time, the two teams continued their battle with a 16 all score line when the final siren sounded. Blaxland East were deemed the winners as they had scored the first try. Greg Alexander was there to present the medals and winners shield as well as provide a very motivating and encouraging speech to all of the finalists and their parents.

Blackett PS and Henry Fulton PS both finished top of their pool to gain a grand final berth in the B division final. Both teams played some outstanding footy with Henry Fulton running out the eventual winners 14 to 6. Matt Moylan presented the players of the final award, being the match ball, to the worthy recipients.

Patrician Brothers Blacktown supplied the schoolboy referees, who were outstanding on the day and a credit to their school

Congratulations to all 16 teams who participated today, each of which played in great spirit and showed fantastic sportsmanship throughout the day.
