The Panthers community is mourning the loss of Mal Gower who passed away on Friday.

Mal, father of Penrith great Craig Gower, began coaching in Penrith's Junior League and as Craig was coming through the system he became a member of the Panthers Coaching Panel, and had involvement with school football programs in the ‘90s.

He coached our Harold Matthews squad in 1994, getting them to a grand final. He then went onto coach our SG Ball squad in 1995 and 1996, helping them to another GF and a semi final.

Mal helped to mentor and tutor many young players coming through our programs, and helped dozens of kids as they transitioned into grade.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gower family.
