Footy fever hit Hickeys Lane in Penrith this week when 21 rugby league teams from schools in the Penrith district all battled it out in the Greg Alexander Shield.

It was a fierce competition played in great spirit and all students who participated not only displayed fantastic rugby league skills, but also showed wonderful sportsmanship throughout the day.

There were some very close pool matches, with Glenmore Park PS meeting local rival Regentville PS in the A final, with Regentville eventually winning the match.

The B final was played between competition new comer Henry Fulton PS and Glenmore Park PS, with Henry Fulton emerging victorious in another close encounter.

The players were presented with their medals by Penrith Panthers player Liam Ayoub.

Congratulations to both of our winners who will now progress to the Greg Alexander Finals Day to be played at the Kingsway on June 24th.

A massive thanks to Penrith Brothers JRLFC for hosting our event and to our schoolboy referees from Erskine Park HS who did a fantastic job on the day.
