Building Young Men
Building Young Men (BYM) is a group mentoring program that delivers a safe environment for Year 9 and 10 students to connect with positive role models.
The initiative provides a safe, supportive environment where young men can engage in open, honest discussions with experienced role models.
The program addresses key issues affecting young males today, including drug and alcohol use, sexual assault, mental health, and violence, with the aim of reducing the risks and negative outcomes commonly seen in national youth statistics.
2025 Impact
Last year, the Building Young Men program continued to make a meaningful impact in schools across the region. Participants have demonstrated:
- Greater confidence in communicating and expressing themselves.
- Improved ability to recognise and manage their emotions.
- Strengthened relationships with family, peers, and mentors.
- A clearer sense of identity, purpose, and potential.
Penrith Panthers players and staff respect and honour the traditional custodians of the land and pay our respects to their elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
