Our Pillars

Penrith is a wonderful and generous community. However, we still have significant social and community needs which are not currently being met. As a Foundation, we have identified three key areas in which we feel we can have a significant and positive impact. These areas, which we are calling our Three Pillars, are education, community and participation.

Education

Education is a matter that Panthers has always been passionate about.

We are extremely proud of the work our Panthers on the Prowl programs have delivered in this space for close to two decades now.

It is our intention to expand the impact of our programs such as Building Young Men and Empowering Young Women, as well as our Healthy Active Lifestyles, Adopt-A-School and our SEDA Diploma program.

Community

The generous people of the Penrith community are already working incredibly hard to meet real basic community needs such as food and shelter, support for domestic violence victims and vital health care.

It is our intention that we support these existing local efforts so that they can be even more effective. The four main social issues we have identified in this area are:

  • Respectful relationships
  • Homelessness & hunger
  • Social cohesion
  • Health Promotion

Participation

Participation in our great sport of rugby league is something we want to be readily available to everyone.

We aim to help break down any barriers to participation, allowing many more people to experience the multiple health and social benefits sport has to offer.

Initially, we will be focusing especially on those with a disability, from Indigenous and multicultural backgrounds, and young females.

Acknowledgement of Country

Penrith Panthers players and staff respect and honour the traditional custodians of the land and pay our respects to their elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
