Active Schools Program
The Active Schools Program is an 8-week initiative delivered in primary schools that encourages students to be physically active and make positive health choices.
Throughout the program, students learn about the benefits of physical activity, healthy lifestyle habits, and practical ways to support their wellbeing now and into the future.
To reinforce these lessons, students are given weekly activities and challenges, including "Claws' Game of the Week," which encourages them to try a new game or physical activity in their own time, and "Panther's Health Tip of the Week," which explores topics such as hydration, nutrition, sleep, sun safety, reducing screen time, and mental wellbeing.
The program is themed around the grand final successes of the Penrith Panthers. Each week focuses on a different grand final match, highlighting a key moment and the lesson or skill that contributed to success.
Students are encouraged to apply these themes, such as teamwork, resilience, communication, and perseverance, to both physical activity and everyday life.
Penrith Panthers players and staff respect and honour the traditional custodians of the land and pay our respects to their elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
