Biography:
‘Hook’ transitioned in to coaching after a couple of years playing in the state-based Queensland rugby league competition. He quickly gained a reputation of developing young talent whilst getting results by winning three premierships in his first six seasons coaching various junior sides.

In 2001 he became an assistant for Melbourne’s NRL side and later returned to Queensland to coach Redcliffe Dolphins, leading them to the Queensland Cup title in 2006.

After coaching the Broncos’ NYC side, he was later promoted to NRL head coach in 2011 and took them to within a game of the Grand Final in his first season.

He departed the Broncos following the 2014 season and was announced as Panthers head coach for 2016 steering the side to consecutive finals appearances in his first two seasons in charge.
