Local high school graduates and budding journalists Jye Campbell and Jason Lawler have been appointed Panthers Junior Reporters for the upcoming season.
With the 2018 Junior Representative training program commencing last week, the Panthers High Performance department extended the invitation to Jye and Jason to join the club's media team.
The pair, who recently graduated from St Dominic's College, will provide training updates and match reports from the Panthers SG Ball and Harold Matts teams this season.
Jye's lifelong dream has been to build a career in sports journalism and he hopes to one day report on rugby league for a living. Over the last 12 months he has his gained valuable writing experience by publishing articles on his blog Panther Press. Jye has applied to study Sports Management and Public Relations at Western Sydney University in 2018.
Jason possesses a passion for sports journalism and non-fiction writing as a whole. He has developed his skills and style by running his own online blog, covering a range of subjects including sport, music and politics. He is planning to study Journalism and Political Science at the University of Sydney in 2018.
Jye and Jason were both members of the 2016-17 St Dominic's College Prefect Body, and were the joint Communications Prefects of the cohort. This role involved them undertaking a range of tasks including writing, reporting and public speaking.
Panthers is delighted to offer opportunities to local students who demonstrate passion and drive. We look forward to sharing the work of Jye and Jason with the club's members and fans.
