It was time to talk health and nutrition as the Junior Elite Training Scheme (JETS) program continued at Pepper Stadium on Tuesday.

Panthers Nutritionist Benita Lalor, who works closely with the club's senior squads, took time out to discuss the importance of managing daily food intake.

Lalor coordinated a series of activities designed to increase awareness of better choices the players can make when it comes to their diet.

The players were also educated on the club's policies and protocols in regards to supplements.

Panthers established the JETS program in 2013 as a tool to 'fast track' select players with specialist coaching, mentoring and physical development.

The players, aged between 16 and 18, have been identified as standout performers in the club's Harold Matts, SG Ball and development squads.

Panthers forward Trent Merrin is an integral part of the program in 2017 and will work with the players on a number of topics including managing relationships, resilience and goal-setting.

The 2017 JETS program will culminate later in the year with a game against a touring side from St Helens.
