James Tamou maintains he still has plenty of room to improve as he eyes a run of form to help the Panthers get their season back on track.

The 36-28 win over the Warriors last Saturday ended a poor month for the Panthers as they slumped to five consecutive losses. However Tamou is hoping the side can string together some wins with the monkey now off their backs.

"I feel like we can get a few on the trot now. We’ve been working and building for something like that (second half performance)," Tamou said.

"We've just got to take confidence from that and hopefully we can put it all together this week."

When quizzed about his own form, Tamou reflected on a positive fortnight after a backing up his stellar performance for City Origin with a solid showing for his club, but admitted he was still not up to the standard he wants to be at.

"I’m still scratching (for top form). I don’t feel like I've hit it yet," he said.

"Personally I think I've still got a lot to go and still got a lot [more] to offer the team.

"The past couple of weeks has done me good and it's just about building from there."
