Anthony Griffin has praised the performances of his representative players and hopes their return will help turn things around for the Panthers if they are to be a threat this season.

Hook confirmed every player returned fit and healthy after more than a dozen Panthers players ran out for their respective sides last weekend, with many of them putting in stellar performances.

"Thankfully they've all come back in good shape and most of them played very well for their respective teams," Griffin said.

"We're looking forward to having them all back in the one team tomorrow."

Many pundits were surprised the Panthers allowed the majority of their squad take part over the weekend, but Griffin was happy to let his players gain invaluable experience at the highest level.

"A lot of our guys are young and they'll get a lot of confidence out of playing rep football. It's a real honour for someone to be picked for a rep side and it was great to see a lot of our guys experience that last weekend,” he said.

Griffin added the break has given the whole squad a lift with many of the players performing well, as well as allowing the players who remained at the club a chance to rest.

"A lot of the guys who had the week off, like Wallace, Yeo and Campbell-Gillard, it's really freshened them up and the other guys (in representative teams) performed very well so they all got a lot of confidence out of that," he said.

"If they were fit and healthy [then] they could go and play and it has given them a bit more experience and belief in themselves. I don't see how it’s a bad thing."

Griffin will be hoping the effects of the past week can provide a timely boost for his side as their season threatens to fizzle out off the back of five straight losses.

The Panthers will need to produce a mid-season turnaround that mirrors last year's effort to snap their losing streak and give themselves a chance of playing finals football, starting with the Warriors at Pepper Stadium tomorrow.

"We've got to keep building and tomorrow is a really big challenge against the Warriors who are in great form, but we need to start getting some results," Griffin said.

"If we’re going to do something [this season] it’s got to be soon, obviously.

"Our main focus is to keep building our team at the moment and learn the tough lessons that have been handed to us."
