Scans have confirmed Peta Hiku's season is over after he suffered a torn ACL and MCL during Sunday's game against the Titans at Pepper Stadium.

The Panthers centre will undergo surgery in the next fortnight, with his rehabilitation expected to take at least six months.

Hiku scored five tries in his 11 games for the Panthers in 2016.

Panthers forward James Fisher-Harris suffered a fractured thumb during the first half of Sunday's clash.

The 20-year-old Kiwi will undergo surgery on Wednesday and is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
