Panthers Executive General Manager Phil Gould has broken the disappointing news on the extent of Te Maire Martin's injury.

On Tuesday night Gould tweeted: "Te Maire Martin - fractured glenoid (shoulder). Displaced. Terrible injury, very painful & will require surgery Unfortunately out for season"

Martin suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Sharks, after being taken out off the ball.

With hooker James Segeyaro making his comeback from a broken arm, Peter Wallace will return to the halves alongside Jamie Soward for Saturday's game against Canberra.
