Panthers have chosen Nigel Plum as this year’s nominee for the Ken Stephen Medal, which recognises the extra work NRL players do in our community.

Plummy is a role model on, and off the field, he is a player a lot of our younger guys look up to, and he is a family man who manages to balance a full time football career and a wife and three young kids!

He participated in the World’s Greatest Shave 2014 and dyed his hair bright blue, he’s visited schools, hospitals, community centres, he has been an ambassador for Panthers on the Prowl, and he donates and often gives away his headgear after games.

He recently went out to visit a team from the Mid North Coast who were down here for a Primary schools Gala Day and gave them some Panthers gear.

He also emails a couple of kids in New Zealand, talking to them about footy and life in Australia.

A lot of young kids in the Penrith district look up to Plummy and want to play like him, and he often gets stopped in the street for photos and autographs.

Voting  has now opened and will close on Monday 10th September. Vote for Nigel Plem here at nrl.com/kenstephenmedal

Panthers wishes Plummy all the best with his nomination!
