The Panthers have today agreed to release Tim Grant from the final two years of his contract so he can take up an offer to join South Sydney.

Tim approached Penrith officials several weeks ago about a possible release, but after negotiations he agreed to see out his term until the end of 2016. However, after a change of heart he again approached club bosses to ask for a release, which has today been formalised.

Tim will see out the 2014 season with the Panthers and hopes to deliver a solid finish to his career at the foot of the mountains.

The Panthers respect Tim’s decision and wish him all the best for his future.

The club will not be making any further comment on the issue at this point in time.
