This event brought together women from all walks of life, continuing the dedicated work of Women in League raising money for local charities.
Guest speaker for the morning was Catherine Oates-Smith. Catherine began her career as a journalist both in Australia and the U.K, with her areas of expertise extending from Television Journalist, Director of Business Development, and COO to current roles as a Deputy Chair of the Cell and Gene Trust, and member of the Fundraising Committee of the National Art School.
After travelling to Vietnam, Catherine started OChristmasTree to help give disabled Vietnamese adults a way of making a living. They make hand stitched and hand crafted ochristmastree products. In so doing OChristmasTree is helping these workers to earn vital income to improve their quality of llfe.
Catherine spoke of the unseen work by women everywhere, calling them 'the silent army'.
